Internships in my Washington, DC and district offices run throughout the fall, spring or summer semesters for college students. Internship hours are flexible to accommodate students' course schedules, but generally run 9:00 am to 6:00 pm when Congress is in session and 9:00 am to 5:00 pm when not in session.
In Washington, interns will be tasked with a variety of responsibilities, including answering phones, researching legislation for the Member and legislative staff, attending virtual hearings and briefings, and answering constituent letters. Through this program, interns will learn about the legislative process and other functions of a Congressional office. Until further notice, all Washington, DC internships will be remote.
To apply for a Washington, D.C. based internship please email Phoebe Nelson (Phoebe.Nelson@mail.house.gov). We are no longer acceping applications for a Summer 2021 internship with my Washington D.C. office. Applications for a Fall 2021 internship position will open in July!
In my District office, interns may be tasked with day-to-day office work such as answering phones, writing letters, working on constituent casework, and handling District-based projects.
At this time, internships with my district offices have been paused. We hope to start up again in the fall!
