Washington, DC – Congressman Tom O’Halleran (D-AZ) released a statement following reports that President Donald Trump’s discussed a partnership with Russia to create a cyber security unit to prevent future election hacking:

“We must get serious about protecting our country against cyber attacks that could impact our elections and undermine our democracy,” said Rep. O’Halleran. “This proposal with Russian President Vladimir Putin is far from serious, and I urge President Trump to work with Congress on a real, bipartisan solution.”

Congressman Tom O’Halleran, member of the House Armed Services Committee, voted last week to pass the FY18 National Defense Authorization Act, legislation that allocates funding for military operations at home and abroad.
