Fund Counties, Cities, and Towns, Says O’Halleran
VILLAGE OF OAK CREEK – This week, Congressman Tom O’Halleran (AZ-01) joined a group of over 40 colleagues on a letter to House leadership urging the inclusion of $350 billion for state and local governments in a budget reconciliation package.
“Over the past year, counties, cities, and towns throughout our country have suffered financially due to this pandemic with limited federal assistance,” said Rep. O’Halleran. “It is essential that hard-hit state and local governments have the resources they need to address the rapidly developing economic and public health crises caused by COVID-19. I am also committed to ensuring that tribal governments receive the funding they need to continue to combat this pandemic in our reconciliation package.”
The lawmaker’s letter was endorsed by the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME); National League of Cities; and the National Association of Counties.
