O’Halleran Announces Restaurant Relief Grant Program Opening Monday
VILLAGE OF OAK CREEK – Today, Congressman Tom O’Halleran (AZ-01) announced that the Small Business Administration’s $28.6 billion Restaurant Revitalization Fund—signed into law as part of the O’Halleran-backed American Rescue Plan—would begin accepting applications at 9:00 a.m. Arizona time on Monday, May 3.
Priority in the first 21 days will be given to restaurants owned by women, veterans, and socially or economically disadvantaged groups.
“Independent restaurants are an important part of what brings our communities together, but many are still at risk of closing their doors because of the coronavirus pandemic,” said O’Halleran. “I was proud to vote to pass the American Rescue Plan to help our rural economies recover from this public health crisis, and our local restaurants are a vital part of this recovery.”
Registration for the SBA application portal began today at 6:00 a.m. Arizona time. In preparation for the grant program’s opening, the SBA released detailed guidance for those seeking relief through the Restaurant Revitalization Fund.
