WASHINGTON—This morning, Congressman Tom O’Halleran (AZ-01) joined the COVID Memorial Project to place the last of 20,000 American flags on the National Mall. Each flag represents 10 lives lost, as the United States crosses the devastating threshold of 200,000 COVID-19 deaths.

“This morning, I staked flags that represent the over 5,000 Arizonans lost to this deadly virus. Together, as one nation, we mourn the loss of so many,” said O’Halleran, standing in front of the Washington Monument. “Now is our moment. I will say today what I have been saying for months: there is, quite literally, no time to waste to construct a detailed, national plan to scale up testing, tracing, and treatment operations. I am calling on this administration to do so before we lose more Americans to this pandemic.”
