O’Halleran Statement on Ethics Director’s Resignation
SEDONA, AZ – Today, Congressman Tom O’Halleran (AZ-01) released a statement following the resignation of Walter Shaub Jr., Director of the Office of Government Ethics:
“I commend Mr. Schaub and the independent Office of Government Ethics for their work to hold our government leaders accountable to the American people. I have long-advocated for greater transparency and ethical compliance by the Administration, but there is still much left to do. I urge President Trump to expeditiously appoint a new director that is committed to remaining politically independent and can continue leading the OGE.”
O’Halleran sent letters to Office of Management and Budget Director Mick Mulvaney and President Donald Trump requesting compliance with long-standing ethics rules outlined by the Office of Government Ethics.
