FLAGSTAFF—As fire crews successfully continue to contain the Museum Fire, Congressman Tom O’Halleran (AZ-01) released the following statement:

“The quick decision by Coconino National Forest officials and the Type 3 Incident Management Team to call in the Type 1 Incident Management Team early undoubtedly saved lives and prevented widespread destruction of property in and around Flagstaff. We owe the brave men and women who fought this fire a debt of gratitude for their service. I also want to thank the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office, Flagstaff Police Department, and the Flagstaff Fire Department for conducting smooth evacuations of affected areas. This situation was handled quickly and efficiently by first responders, and the efforts of county and local leaders, in conjunction with state and federal stakeholders, was critical to the success of the firefighting efforts.”
