O'Halleran Calls on Speaker Ryan to Cancel August Recess
WASHINGTON - Today, following the announcement that the Senate would cancel August recess to continue working on pressing issues impacting our nation, Congressman Tom O’Halleran (AZ-01) called on Speaker Paul Ryan to cancel August recess for the House of Representatives to focus on passing a bipartisan infrastructure bill, working to stabilize the health insurance market, and finding a permanent solution for DACA recipients.
“With so many outstanding issues affecting our communities, now is not the time for members of Congress to take a monthlong vacation. Congressional leaders and the Administration have long promised an infrastructure bill that invests in our country and a permanent solution that gives DREAMers stability, and now Arizonans are seeing spiking health insurance premiums that must be addressed. We have a responsibility to address these issues, and so many more,” said Rep. O’Halleran. “Speaker Ryan should cancel August recess and give Congress the time to write, debate, and pass bipartisan, commonsense legislation that resolves these issues fully.”
